Are you tired of the stubborn birds in the garden? Are you annoyed of their nests under the verandah roof? Do you try anything but still have to get up on a ladder to clean up their mess every 2 days? These nasty and disgusting birds seem driving us away from our every enjoyment in life. While bear in mind that killing the birds isn't AN choice. All native migratory birds within the North American country are protected by federal law (Migratory Bird Treaty Act) and it's banned to kill, hurt or harass any protected bird.
To deter birds from nesting, try these suggestions:
Physical barriers-- Bird spikes ([barbed wire for birds") prevent a bird from roosting on a nearby ledge, sill, roof peak, etc. Bird netting works well too. If birds don`t have easy, comfortable roosting access to your property, they are less likely to congregate there.
Visual devices are usually used against pigeons, starlings, blackbirds, woodpeckers and more. As with sound deterrents, change is important to scare birds away. You simply cut off bird deterrent strips tape and attach them to fence posts, trees or rooftops to scare the birds away. As the strips blow in the wind, they catch sunlight, producing constantly changing colors and patterns. And the tape itself produces a metallic rattle, unnerving birds with the sound too.
We do get some suggestion for bird trapping cages. This device proved to be effective and harm birds little.
